Lateisha Wilson is currently resides at the Miami Beach EDITION in the role of Chef de Cuisine overseeing the culinary operation of Matador Room Restaurant and Matador Bar. Lateisha is not new to our prominent partner Michelin Star Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten since she is joining us from ABC Cocina in New York City which is a Jean-Georges restaurant. At ABC Cocina, which is a restaurant celebrating local craft and international cuisine she was the restaurants Executive Sous Chef for just over four years.

Prior to being at ABC Cocine Lateisha was the Head Chef at Dekalb Market Hall in Brooklyn, NY, which is the largest food hall in all of Brooklyn. The 27,000 square foot subterranean market is home to over 30 local and regional vendors with a menu that has emphasis on the ethnic diversity of New York City. After receiving her further education with a B.B.A in Culinary Arts and Management from the State University of New York Lateisha started her culinary career at Macondo East in New York City as a Line Cook. At this restaurant she was working multiple stations and focusing on dinner service as well as brunch.

Soon her talent and drive for leadership was discovered and she was promoted to Barraca/Macondo West in New York City as the Sous Chef for those two different restaurants from 2015 to 2017 With a focus on Spanish cuisine this experience got her introduced to Spanish style cooking and exploring this type of cuisine. Lateisha was passionate on joining the culinary scene at a young age and always knew that the kitchen was where she wanted to be.

When not in the kitchen Lateisha truly enjoys to travel and explore new locations to inspire her and to learn about new destinations, cultures and different types of cuisines. When not focused on traveling and her culinary growth Lateisha enjoys nothing more than spending time with her family in particular building Legos with her sons as well as her niece. She truly enjoys going to amusement parks together with her family with who she just recently relocated to Miami together with her wife.
